If want your own certificate (https://www.yourname.com/), you must acquire a secure certificate from Thawte or Verisign. You can generate the Certificate Signing Request (CSR) and install the certificate by clicking the 'Secure Server' button in the Control Panel. Secure URL will appear https://www.yourdomain.com/

Once a CSR is generated from your control panel, copy and paste it into the CSR field of Thawte or Verisign's site. Thawte is just as good a secure certificate as Verisign (Verisign actually now owns Thawte), and it's $249 less than Verisign. Thawte runs $100/yr., which is very reasonable.

• Thawte walkthrough:

1. Generate CSR (click Secure Server button in your control panel to generate CSR code), select all and copy the CSR code. (Save this CSR Code).
2. Go to https://www.thawte.com/cgi/server/step1.exe
3. Choose 'SSL Server Certificate' and click 'Next.'
4. Paste the CSR code from Step 1 into the 'Certificate Signing Request (CSR)' field.
5. Choose 'Apache+mod_ssl' as web server software.
6. E-Mail Us to get the 'Hosting Partner Code' to receive a $25 discount. (Only for GlobalHosting Clients).
7. Click 'Next' to continue with payment options.

You will need to fax your local Thawte office (fax available on their site, http://www.thawte.com) a printout of your company information proving that it is your company and you own the domain name the secure cert is for.
